About the event
Once Upon An Opera is a magical adventure told through opera's greatest hits.
Four singers and a pianist take you from one famous scene to the next, held together by a story and a few words of narration along the way — grand choruses, playful duets, a wicked witch or two, and some of the most beautiful tunes ever written. Between numbers the singers slip into the audience, so it feels like a show rather than a concert, and there's plenty for younger children to watch as well as listen to.
The performance runs in two short halves with an interval, and no knowledge of opera is needed. If you've ever heard a car advert, a film trailer or a football anthem, you already know more of this music than you think.
Carshalton Opera presents Once Upon An Opera, in collaboration with Harmony's Music Club.
